My stylist was Tenzin and she provided excellent service! I was very nervous when I first walked in and was unsure about what type of wig I wanted but out of all the ones Tenzin showed me I fell in love with the first one. She really has a great eye for these things and explained everything about my new wig, from how to put in on, take it off, and caring for it. My wallet suffered but my new wig looks and feels amazing so it was worth every penny.

My husband and I have both been going to Suzy for more than 15 years. She always makes my hair look it's very best and my highlights appear completely natural. And Ana gives the most relaxing hair wash I've ever had. They are the best!

I had an amazing experience at the HairPlace with Alexandra Lopez! I was very anxious to show someone my (lack of) hair post-radiation treatment, and had low expectations that we would find something that came close to the hair I had lost. Alex put me at ease from the very beginning, and was extremely compassionate from our 1st consultation through finding and styling the perfect piece for me!

She matched the color and texture of my hair perfectly - so much so that when she was styling my hair, I couldn't tell the difference between my remaining hair, and the piece. I went to Hair Place due to the high reviews by cancer patients, and also it was listed first for places to go on the MSK website. I ended up going twice. The first time went well with a private room to try several different wigs. Since it was my first wig, I received a lot of instruction on the various steps involved and what to do. My only disappointment with this visit was that I didn't try the steps with their guidance and feedback.

We found something I liked and met the requirements for my medical device. They had the color I wanted in stock, so it would only be a couple of weeks until I had my wig. I mentioned wanting bangs and face-framing on my wig at the first visit. About 2 weeks later, I went to pick up the wig. I was disappointed in the service at my second visit after paying for the wig.

I didn't get any trimming to make it unique to me and my face. For over $800, I left with an off-the-rack wig. When I reminded them about the bangs, I was given a few bobby pins and was told it would make more sense to pin it up on the side to meet the needs of my medical device. Bobby pins? Really!?! Not sure why they couldn't even pretend to trim and style even if they took off almost nothing.

The reason I gave them 3-stars and not lower - 1) the first visit was great, and everyone was super supportive, and 2) the wig is beautiful - perfect for my medical needs. But the service, or lack of service, once I paid for the wig was so disappointing.

Alex is the best hairdresser I've ever had! She is precise, creative, and open to fulfilling all my hair needs. I love the way she styles my real hair as well are my wigs (after chemotherapy.) My only fear is that after my review, she'll not have time for me!

I always have an amazing experience at the salon. Everyone is always so helpful and kind, attentively answering all styling questions while giving the best cuts. Alex in particular has been incredible, so knowledgeable in offering hair care advice and cutting in ways that let me explore new lengths!

Great place. Great for customers with special requests. They also have a private space where you could be more comfortable when you're getting your haircut. Suzie is a very caring hairstylist, she is patient at explaining and showing different wig options.

I went to see their stylist Anna twice. She's so kind and helpful. She knows their wigs and what will look good. She is also very patient, because I am indecisive. I highly recommend this place.

I can't say enough good things about this place. They are knowledgeable and caring and extremely helpful. I worked with Alex and she showed me various ways to work with what was left of my chemotherapied hair - wig, topper (for the bald spots on top) or colored powder for the scalp - a revelation. She was patient and good humoured and I left the salon feeling great. Highly recommended.

I enjoy going to this salon for my hair needs. It's very comfortable. My hair stylist is Suzie who is excellent. It is necessary for me to wear a wig and she matches the color perfectly so I am able to pull some hair out to make it look natural. No one can tell I am wearing a wig. I am writing this review to alert you to a marvelous hair dresser named Tanzin who styles both men and women's hair. My wife has used Tanzin for several years and I asked if she can cut mens hair. I can vouch that she is an excellent cutter and stylist of men's hair. And if you're in the market for a hairpiece she can set that up for you as well. Highly recommended!

If you go ask for Elise she's been doing my color for the last 15 years. And she's great! I won't let anyone else touch my hair! Not only does she do the BEST color but is a sweetheart as well!

I have have always had thin hair, thinning out even further over the past year so the point that I could not get it to grow. I went to Alex with my concerns and she hooked me up with the perfect set of extensions. They look so natural, fill out my hair, and was even able to add a lot of length thanks to her styling and blending. I could not be happier with the results, and am so grateful to have the hair I always wanted at last!

I have been going to Elise many years! I initially went very reluctantly after a friend staged an intervention of sorts on my very premature gray hair. She assured me I'd be in good hands with Elise and she could not have been more right. Elise gives a great haircut and is an exceptional colorist, especially if you want to maintain a natural look. Elise also traveled 3 hours each way to do my hair and makeup (and the bridal party's) for my wedding. Shanta is also great and takes great care of you while in the salon. I highly recommend them both!

I've been a client of Elise for almost two years. This was my first wig and I had a hard time styling it since I never had long hair before. Other salons would not book me for an appointment since I did not buy the wig at their place. I was lucky that HairPlace NYC allowed me to make an appointment for a wash and style. I was given an appointment with Elise.

After a short consultation she styled it exactly how I wanted and made it look so lovely. I have been so happy with her services that i now come in monthly. I get compliments all the time and no one can believe it's not my real hair. She is great to work with and an extremely nice person to talk to. I highly recommend her for hair/wig services.

How lucky am I to have found a stylist I trust completely. Suzie is a gem! As soon as I saw her head of curly hair, I felt at ease knowing she could take care of my own. Over the last two years I developed allergies to hair dyes and she has found a way to make my hair "naturally" blonde without using chemicals that touch my scalp. Streak by streak she creates a dazzling light-catching effect that looks fab when my hair is curly or straight.

I have recommended Suzie to friends who are equally delighted and I recommend her to you too! The salon is friendly, unpretentious and clean. Pricing is what you expect in NYC. It is clearly posted online. You will have no unpleasant surprises, only beautiful hair.

I was referred to HairPlaceNYC by a friend as I was in search of a wig due to extreme hair loss. I met with Trinata to get fitted and to say she was patient is an understatement. I must've tried on over a dozen variations and she took her time to explain the difference in price, quality, texture and color. I settled on a synthetic, heat resistant, wig that was as close to my natural hair color as I could get.

Once I received my order, I went back to the salon to get it cut and styled. The stylist made sure to take their time cutting a little at a time to ensure I was 100% satisfied. I even returned about 2 weeks later to trim the bangs more and with each visit, I was greeted with the kindest and friendliest team. I have been wearing my wig now for a few weeks and received so many compliments on hair, no-one even realizing that I am wearing a wig!

I don't want to go into too much about my situation that brought me here, but I can say I was really anxious and lost in terms of how to my solve my hair problems. I did a consultation with "the whisper" I cannot say how much I recommend going to her for whatever reason that would bring you to her. She is patient, not looking to sell you something for the sake of a sale and really does guide you if its first time shopping for these needs and services.

I was so scared I've leave feel ashamed, ugly or with something that didn't feel right. This lady really knows what she's doing and goes about it patiently and with tons of compassion. If you're apprehensive about this kind of service I'd take a chance to go to see her. It went so much better than I was anticipating. '

I came here with my mom to find a wig for her during chemo and I'm very glad I found this place online. We met with Alexandria and her compassion and kindness put us at ease. She gave us practical advice and helped us make decisions on when to come back and which wigs to choose. What I like most about this place is their knowledge specific to cancer patients and their needs.

There is a lot of support here - not only do you get a wig but you get some perks specific for cancer patients eg included in your wig price is the first haircut after your hair grows back. There's also a community here since everyone is going through similar experiences. When we went to get the wig there were other moms and their kid doing exactly the same. made it feel safer and Alexandria made my mom feel safe - which made the experience not as bad as we had thought it would be. Thanks hair place for helping us through this time.

There are so many issues to deal with connected with chemotherapy. I do recommend getting a wig before your hair changes and falls out. And after a horrible experience at another shop where I walked out, I can recommend Hair Place/Andrew DiSimone Wigs. Alex is EXCEPTIONAL. She is calm, honest empathetic and professional. I was treated with dignity. Chemo is not for the faint of heart. Getting a wig that looks like your original hair is a small compensation for the journey towards recovery. Having services offered with the wig price makes this new way of life easier (shaving, first cut, washing demo, supplying accessories).

The shop is clean and organized and a private space was used to service me. The selection of wigs is very good. Based on a friend's advice (who is cancer cured) I chose a premium synthetic wig.

I must say. I wasn't happy with the wig I got. I emailed Andrew and he was very accommodating and offered to exchange it for me at no charge. I appreciate his great customer service and I appreciate his immediate reply. Customer service is everything. Thanks Andrew.

I went to Hairplace NYC back in January to purchase a wig and met with Alex. Very happy with my wig and most of all Alex's professional service. Alex was very helpful in helping me pick out what's suitable and I was able to try on many different wigs until I found the perfect one that I was comfortable with. I highly recommend seeing Alex as she is sweet, patient, and easy to talk to. She is very informative and is a great stylist. Will see her again soon!

Umm I can't say I really want to put my money down for a service i can't see pictures or fake reviews on there They charged me $450 for a wig install without preplucking This service isn't for the urban community.

Andrew and Suzie are amazing. I had to cut off my hair and get a wig for medical reasons and they helped me through it. Andrew walked me through with ordering the perfect wig. I put an order within a few weeks and it was ready to be picked up. I also asked Suzie to cut off my hair as I know I would be losing most of my hair sooner or later. I was very nervous about how I would look after cutting my hair really short but Suzie made me feel so comfortable and constantly reminded me that my hair will grow back and how beautiful I looked.

We had great conversations while she was cutting my hair and taught me tricks of styling my wig and how to put it on. Great service at Hairplace NYC and I would definitely recommend this salon to everyone!
